After years of producing economical and often uninspiring cars, Plymouth introduced a high performance vehicle. The model name was down-graded in 1959 to being Plymouth's high trim level. The high performance version became the Sport Fury. There were extensive styling changes in 1961 with the removal of the fins, taking off a little of the weight. For the years 1960-64, Furies and Sport Furies were mid-size (B-Bodies). In 1965, the name was applied to Plymouth's full-size C-Body) platform. By the early 1970s, Federal safety standards were making their mark in design, in particular bumpers. The Fury needed a quick re-design for 1973 after a major 1972 re-styling. Still a big car, the fuel crisis took it toll and competitors started to reduce the size of their cars to be more economical. The Fury had to change.

This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, new model intro’s and long-term tests. Models covered: Fury, Sport Fury, Fury I, II, III, GT, VIP, Gran Coupe. 136 pages. Hundreds of B & W illustrations. 8" x 11"
